Consumer Code for Homebuilders

The Consumer Code for Homebuilders is an industry lead scheme which gives protection and rights to purchasers of new homes, ensuring that new homebuyers are treated fairly and are fully informed about their purchase before and after they sign the contract. The Code applies to all homebuyers who reserve to buy a new or newly converted home, on or after 1st April 2010, built by a home builder registered with one of the supporting warranty bodies.

If you are acting for a homebuilder or homebuyer, you need to be aware of the Code and ensure that your clients are also fully aware of its requirements.

If you are selling homes on behalf of a homebuilder registered with one of the supporting warranty bodies, you and your client will need to comply with the relevant requirements within the Code.
